I'm new to Parkour. I'd always heard about it but never really got into the sport. Now I feel like I need to start working out again and I really want to try it.
I live in Houston but I live in northern Houston, in the Champions Area if anyone knows where that is. Is there anybody near me?

There might be. You'd probably get a response in the Houston area section though...

I've been interested in Parkour for a few years actually, when someone introduced it to me as "extreme follow the leader" or something of that sort. I really wanna get into Parkour pretty seriously. I've always been in good shape (running and basketball) and i've actually stepped that up due to the fact that i will be entering the air force. Any pointers?

Well conditioning is key, stick to the basics in the beggining until you get more skill and don't be stupid lol.

Yah, i wont be stupid. It wasnt until recently that i really wanted to get into Parkour, and i've done stuff (not in a Parkour sense) but i guess i could build on that, and just start from the ground up.

Jam with some people. Learn how you move...and the conditioning and philosophy are key.

It is sometimes hard to get a hold of them, but there are members of our group in Houston that do regular training. Send a message to unggoy for some more info on that.

Since no one posts here i thought heck if someone new looks here right off the bat maybe that will be the start of more people putting down on the frappr map where they live so you can meet up with more people. My hope is to find someone who lives near me down in La Vernia. The link to the TXPK one is www.frappr.com/texasparkour hey ill be in la vernia this weekend i go almost every weekend to chill w/ my cousin. he's not really into pk he'll mess around though sometimes.
