the river walk holds a lot of fun but it is regularly frequented by officers and they usually put a end to our fun...at least for the moment.

does that mean none of us should Parkour where other people think we shouldn't. I Parkour where ever I think I can and want to. If they tell me to leave I leave. Is there anything wrong with that.

No but almost getting arrested while training Parkour is not cool, there is nothing wrong with training in places and getting kicked out of said places as long as you are respectful. Now almost getting arrested is a stupid and ignorant thing to take place during training and the only circumstances in which it should take place is if the cop is on such a power trip that he gets you in trouble for nothing. and you don't Parkour, you train, unless you are running from peopel or rescuing people wherever you can or want to...but things like roof training or training in places plastered with no tresspassing signs or nearly getting arrested (not saying you did any of this) are NOT in any way shape or form necessarily wrong in certain circumstances but CAN and WILL most likely give this discipline a bad name.

Parkour is the philosophy first not the movements, so the only true incarnation of Parkour in the physical sense (at least in my eyes) is the actual act it was made for escaping/rescuing.

Dictionary definition of philosophy: The rational investigation of the truths and principles of being, knowledge, or conduct.
The philosophy of Parkour comes from the root of Parkour - overcoming obstacles. As we say, Parkour applies both physically and mentally. The mental side of Parkour is where the philosophy comes in, specifically overcoming obstacles like fear and pain. It really can't be summed up into a simple definition, its something you aquire over time. The most fulfilling way to practice Parkour comes from living and breathing the philosophy.

Wait don't stop there though. Take the philosophy into your own hands and make something of your own out of it. By that I mean interpret your own meaning and understanding of what Parkour is .
