That's right gang; there's another noob afoot. I'm not new to the city, but I am new to PK. I've basically been watching Youtube videos and the like, trying to learn as much as possible about PK. I've been doing some minute jumps and some small vaults. I am dying to get out with some vets and learn from someone who knows more than I do. I live in the Houston area but I tend to gravitate toward the Sugarland/Missouri City/Stafford area from time to time. And I work downtown so if you guys have any jams/training sessions downtown I am definitely game. I'm free all day Mondays and Tuesdays. I'm also curious about the Tuesday jam session; where is it and where do I sign up for it?

Tuesday's have fallen a little by the wayside to as not everyone can make them. However, there have been training/practice sessions regularly on Saturdays lately. Check the next post and if you know any good training spots, let us know and maybe we can join you on your side of town.

Saturday mornings are wonderful, but I work Saturday afternoons. Basically anything that stetches past noon is detrimental to my employment. ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png)

figured i would throw my name in to this thread instead of making a new one. name's Klay, or, on different forums, some variation of madness, live in the meyerland area now, used to live out west of rosenberg. very interested in Parkour, though i have no idea if i will be any good at any point. work two jobs, so i have very little time or energy right now too (bummer..)

hey,
I am very interested in this new sport. I have been doing football for very long and almost every other sport, so i guess you can say i'm athletic. I taught myself how to run up a tree and do a backflip. Also taught my self how to do backflip. I want to train/practice more with people that are somewhat guru's or have more experience then me. Some people from my school would also like to join. Just give me a holler.

What's up, I'm Josh. I live in League City, on 45 south where Houston and Galveston county meet. I'm going back to U. Houston in September, and I've recently gotten into Parkour. As far as Parkour and freerunning, I can't do a d**n thing, and before I start jumping off of various things I'm going to try and get conditioned first. Any guidance would be appreciated!

We're all still learning so don't feel like a loner. You've got the right idea; condition until you can't anymore. Then start over.

Actually... I wouldn't recommend just jumping off things to start. Go to urbanfreeflow.com and check out their tutorials, try to learn the vaults and basic movements first. Jumping off things isn't going to result in much more than injury.

So do you guys teach basics? As in, learn how to do a flip/backflip and how to roll properly, etc? I've watched plenty of videos, but I'd rather be shown, if that's cool

well we focus on Parkour, but either way flips aren't what you should be worrying about first
