We have THREE Basic types of JAMS
Core Jam- For Core Members only
City Jams- These are city Jams that will happen at least once a month.
Texas Parkour Jams- These Jams will be monitored and overseen by organizers with specific intent on team work and drilling certain aspects of the mindset behind Parkour and the physical side of Parkour.
NOTE: If you don't like a TEXAS Parkour JAM there is no problem with this at all. Note: if you don’t like Texas Parkour Jams...you wont like being on "The Core."
1. Attendence- We will try to take attendence so that we make sure to follow as a group and not lose someone...you know...who might have fallen into a bottomless pit.
2. Fees- If donating this will be at the beginning of the jam.
3. Beverage Coordinator- Some one trying to bring water or gatoraid to the jam that everyone may be able to use this service. OF COARSE bring your own liquid to carry around with you.
NOW I would like to give Kudos where they belong. Most of these "rules" have been brought about by the increasing number of people that attend the meetups. Yes I am "regulation" the "sport" of Parkour with a hiarcy of organizatioin but when there is a good organization everyone prospers.
Always check the boards the morning before you go to an event...if possible of coarse. Just to make sure that you dont miss anything, that might have happened over night.
Always bring a identification card...and here is some more info that might be important that I agree with and completly ripped off of another site.
Jam Checklist
This is a list of items that you should bring to a meeting with other traceurs. It is advisable to bring a backpack to hold these items, especially if the jam is not within walking distance of your home.
Clothing
-Comfortable T-shirt or sleeveless shirt.
-Comfortable, durable pants that allow your full range of motion.
-Sweatshirt or Jacket that does not constrict movement.
-Durable athletic shoes (cross trainers or running shoes).
-Socks and Underwear (please don't tell me you were about to go out without underwear).
-Weather appropriate outerwear (poncho, coat, windbreaker etc.).
In your wallet
-Enough cash to get food, drink and to take public transportation home (in case of emergency).
-The cellphone number of the host of the jam (as well as change to call from a payphone).
-Picture Identification in the form of a valid driver's liscence or school ID.
-ICE card (In Case of Emergency). Take an index card and clearly write your full name, age, address, allergies, medical conditions, current medications and emergency contacts. Stow this in your wallet. Don't you feel better already?
-Train, bus, ferry, plane or subway ticket(s).
Others
-Your cell phone.
-At least a liter of water (that's 2 bottles).
-Deodorant (for the ride back).
-A snack (fig newtons or a power bar, nothing too big).
Things NOT to bring
-Automatic Firearms
-Livestock
-Barrels of fresh produce.
-Excuses
Make sure to check with the host of the jam to see if you will need anything special and to check the time and meeting place one last time before heading out the door. Also, be aware of weather conditions and dress accordingly. Don't show up to a blizzard jam in shorts and a T-shirt. Enjoy your learning experience!
If anyone things that this should have its offical thread let me know.
