As some of you may have heard last Saturday, Unique and I are going to try and coordinate the PK/FR activities within the DFW area. I am currently talking with a gym to set up a PK class once a week. It is in the northern part of Ft. Worth, but I thought we could maybe set up a gym class in both Dallas and Ft. Worth. Any suggestions on that?
I'm thinking that we can have the class for us to drill our moves in a safe environment and also to help teach people who are interested in learning Parkour. I think we should teach them the basics in the gym, before moving them outside to help reduce any injuries.
And since the gym has only limited obstacles available, I figured we could build our own. Some things I wouldn't mind building would be precision trainers, plyo boxes and vault/wall trainers. If you could think of anything else, please let me know.
If we start getting this serious with our training and teaching, we need to devise a source of funds to build the stuff, to support car pooling (gas, food, etc.) and whatever else may come up. One idea I had is to collect $5 from every person that attends a jam. Keep in mind that there will be no profit involved, all the money will go towards training and development.
Also, for the NTXPK shirt, the cost is $35+tax, and I need at least 10 orders to get them at that price. So if you want one, let me know what size you want, and I can collect the money when we have another jam/training session.
In addition to all that, I am also working on a website, so please let me know what you would like to see included with that.
