Well, $100 car rental x 2 = $200 $300 gas x 2 = $600 +_____ = $800 $800 / 6 of us = $133 ea. So i'd say it's still pretty doable within the range that we originally said. Plus we'd be quite a bit more comfortable with 3/car. Of course we could still get up to 4 more people in, if anyone can commit before tomorrow.

Brandon, try Thrifty. They've got a minivan for $174 for the weekend. I don't know the fuel economy on it, though. www.thrifty.com/EDIT: Also, please get in contact with me if it's cheaper for someone over 25 to rent. My number si 832.692.9029.

Mini Vans can seat 7 people. Bottom line, its going to be cheaper to get a BIGER vehicle and way more fun and safe. www.hertz.com/rentacar/byr/index.jsp?targetPage=vehicleGuideTypeView.jsp&vSipp=MVAR&leftNavUserSelection=globNav_3_2_3Says they have this vehicle Ford Explorer 4WD THAT IS A 7 PASSANGER for 70$ ((18.5 mpg - 1234 miles - 3.80 a gallon)) Thats 375$ + 253$ = 104$ Each person instead of 133$ each. And we all get to go together. Lets do it! SO, getting the bigger mini van type thing is going to work for us. Patrick says there is a Caravan from Thrifty that is 174 for the weekend special and has better gas . So, lets just check out options.

Yeah ford explorers get like 20 mpg instead of 30.. so that's 120 gallons of gas or 430 dollars.. you end up paying the same. 375 + 430 = 805.85 split up 6 ways is like $134

Well, another problem I was having when looking around is pick-up time. The Avis at the airport (with the $115 or so full size) allows pick-up at 5 am...most others were at like 8 - 10 am.

There are no 24 hour services around Austin? Explorer gets 19 highway and the caravan gets 24 highway. I saw we get one car, no matter what. I'm not 25, so I am not the best choice. Plus, I don't have the money to throw down for the deposit. Like I said I would drive but I still do not prefer to throw my license down at all. Just a personal thing.

No 24 hour services. 5AM is the earliest possible pickup time. And yeah taking 1 car would probably be best.. it would leave much less room for confusion and screwups.

So, where are we with the rental guys? I'm assuming we haven't made a reservation yet. WHo found the best deal? Where's it at? I believe it will be in our best interest for Patrick to actually make the reservation, but he said that he's pretty busy, so if we can at least tell him where/what the best deal is, that would probably make things go more smoothly.

Patrick thought he found the best deal. So, yea not sure. I know Kiem or Patrick has to do this. I think Kiem said he would make the reservation.

alright seriously what the hell.. this is the like 5th time i've said that i am 20 and CAN NOT RENT THE CAR. it is also the 3rd time i've said that ITS BEST IF PATRICK RENTS THE CAR because he is 25 and they get cheaper rates. Sorry if you guys are busy or whatever but I can not legally rent this car.
Thrifty's website has 6am as their earliest pickuptime and you can rent a caravan for $248. If you go on Orbitz you can pick up as early as 5am and you can rent a ford freestar for $381.
These prices come from a Pickup time of 6am on Friday morning and a dropoff time of 11:30 on Monday night for thrity. For orbitz the pickup time is an hour earlier. PATRICK or MATTHEW needs to do this. for the last freaking time

I saw we go with the Caravan and Patrick Thank you so much for doing this!! This is obviously the good choice. 1 hour is worth 100$ less hehe. THANK YOU AGAIN.
Kiem...sorry never saw the under 21 thing for some reason...yea...idiot I am. Thanks for all the info and getting this thing rolling. LETS GET IT ON. Also, I am going to be in Austin Tomorrow!!! Can I crash with anyone? I will need a place Wed night and Thursday night, Devin is also probably going to be needing a place on Thursday night. THANKS!

Well you're always welcome over here matthew, but be warned that we've been averaging bedtimes of like 4am, binge drinking the whole night long, and our house is also infested with fleas.. so yeah i mean if that's cool with you then yes you can crash here.
And yes definitely get the caravan. It is the obvious choice.
Ok now that we have all of that settled let's plan out how we're all going to get to the airport and back from the airport and all of that..
The van will be picked up from the airport at 6am.. I have no car currently but I should be able to get a ride from one of my roommates to the airport for just me.. I doubt they'd be down to pick up a bunch of other kids though. Another option would be to decide on some location in Austin to all meet up at like 5AM and then we'll all squeeze into one car and go to the airport and just park it there for the weekend. Either way is fine for me I could care less.
It would be nice if everyone brought straight cash for this trip, as that would be the easiest way to settle up any bills and debts for the gas and the rental and all that. Since we're taking a minivan and we're going to have extra space I say that we should just bring a bunch of sandwiches and oats and what have you so we can eat in the car and not have to stop and waste precious time getting food to eat. Good stuff to bring would be bananas/apples, sandwiches, granola bags, cliff bars, etc. etc. etc.
Also make sure to print out those waivers and get them signed people.

Yep that all sounds good. One thing, I currently don't have a printer. Could someone print an extra of the release for me?

We can meet at my place. I live about ten minutes from the airport, on Riverside. I'll send each of you a PM with my address.
EDIT: I don't know Devin's username. Can someone forward it to him?
EDIT EDIT: Never mind, I send it.

I will go with Patrick's Idea. My car seats 5, it will be a squeeze get all 6 in but we can do it. Lets all make sure to be there by 5am. I will try to bring as much food with me as possible. Tim will be bring a bunch of stuff as well. I think Brandon and I are going the good old Roman way, cool thing is that, we can stop at a gas station if we need to cook our roman. I do not currently know how to get the "creamy chicken" individual ones, so you will have to hook me up SON. And Brandon, if you got some cave watah...I would enjoy some of that too, nigah. Anyone want to hard boil some eggs? I am going to be super cheap...because I gots to moneys! Also, I TOO do not have a printer. Can someone print one off for me? ? Kiem, if your the only one offering looks like I might be staying at your place. I will bring Off or something hehe. Unless, Brandon Gots Some Room? Check list--sleeping stuff -waiver -Semi/formal clothes for Saturday Event -Food -Swimming trunks (I know there's swimming on friday) bring anyway -Clothes (several hours of jamming bring two shirts or something) (might rain sometime during the week...) -Pen & Paper ( I want everyone to have a journal with them to write down some things I want to go over in the car with everyone. Also, start thinking of some topics and ideas you guys would like to discuss on the trip about Parkour, texas Parkour, or yamakasi in general. I think this would help. Also, we are getting interviewed when we get back at some point by M.E. Television. Already set it up...should be sweet)

We could always park 2 cars at the airport... Is anyone bringing a cooler? I don't have one, but that would be nice. Oh and they're supposed to be going out to some caves an sh*t on Thursday and Friday, so I told Jereme to snag us a nalgene or two of some cave watah!!
